iSix: Image Segmentation in OsiriX.

We developed a tool for the non-commercial version of OsiriX called iSix: Image Segmentation in OsiriX. This tool allows the user to create a multi-label segmentation from DICOM images, and obtain statistical information of the region of the selected label. Also, the user can navigate through the segmented volume using 2D and 3D visualization. We exemplify the use of our tool on the segmentation of spinal muscles, where the tool also computes the muscle composition (fat/lean-muscle proportion) automatically.

Features:

  1. Semi-Automatic
    • 2D Livewire algorithm [1].
    • 3D Region growing (ITK-based) [2].
  2. Manual
    • Brushing (add and erasing).
    • Segmentation using region of interest with common shapes (Polygons, curves, circles).
  3. Multiple labeling segmentation system.
